Rules & Regs

1. The Scratch Stars Awards is open to nail techs, salons and businesses working in the United Kingdom only.

2. All entrants must have been working or trading in the United Kingdom prior to 1 January 2015.

3. No family members or employees of Scratch Magazine or its associated companies can enter.

4. Each nail technician can enter a maximum of two tech awards.

5. All nail technician entrants must be over the age of 16 and hold a recognised manicure qualification, dated prior to 1 January 2015.

6. Each salon can enter a maximum of two salon awards; Retail Salon of the Year and EITHER Nail Salon of the Year: Salon Environment or Nail Salon of the Year: Independent.

7. If the entrant is a nail technician AND a salon owner/manager, they can enter two tech awards, and two salon awards, equating four maximum entries.

8. Entry photographs cannot be digitally enhanced. Any photographs deemed to be digitally enhanced will be disqualified.

9. All entrants must declare that their work is authentic and all their own.

10. The entry deadline is final (5pm, 21 February 2016). No late entries will be accepted.

11. Nail technician finalists must supply their own model for the competition day 18 April 2016 or give at least two weeks notice prior to the date of the need for a model.

12. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into after the judging period. Judges will not be allowed to enter into any communication with entrants with reference to the awards.

13. Winners and finalists will be entitled to use the Scratch Stars logo along with the relevant category heading and year, for promotional use, only when supplied in jpeg format by Scratch magazine. No alterations must be made to the logo.

14. All entrants must have adequate and recognised industry insurance.

15. Scratch magazine reserves the right to publish any images sent, as well as any photos from the competition days and the awards.

16. All written information submitted will be confidential.

17. All winners are encouraged to thank or promote the sponsor of their award, and must include reference to the Scratch Stars Awards and refer to their award when promoting it or in the press as ‘The Scratch Star award for Manicurist of the Year’ for example, NOT just ‘Manicurist of the Year’.
